Althea Stewart studied at The Bristol Old Vic Theatre School and at the University of London. She has earned her living as actor, theatre director and university lecturer, at London and other British and American Universities. Most recently she adapted and directed a version of Dickens’s A Christmas Carol with a cast aged from 5 to 17 years old. She researches the writings of early-modern Quaker prophetesses on which she has published papers.
