Student Housing

Housing during term-time

For longer quarter and semester-based programmes students may choose between a homestay and independent housing.

You will live with a local family in the Greater London suburbs. This accommodation is included in your programme fees by default and organised by the Housing Coordinator in London. You will be provided with a comfortable bedroom (linen included) with adequate storage space and study facilities; breakfast every morning, evening meals on 4 nights, and 2 loads of laundry per week. We do the best we can to ensure you are placed according to your stated preferences (e.g. pet-free, with another student, in a family with children, etc). We also try to make sure you are all placed in roughly the same area so you can socialise and travel home together, and get to feel part of a local neighbourhood.

Independent Housing
If you don’t want to live with a homestay family you must find your own alternative accommodation. Once GEO has received the necessary paperwork pertaining to your lease, etc, your housing fees will be refunded. Please note that the deadline for this option is significantly earlier than for homestays. If you miss the deadline you will automatically be placed with a homestay family. See the main GEO site for terms and conditions.

Housing during the summer

Student Halls
Students on our shorter summer programmes usually stay close to the GEO in London Centre in University of London halls of residence. Students have their own single study room with shared bathroom. Breakfast is included.

Private Apartment
Sometimes we offer private rented flat-shares with other students on the programme. Located in central London, each apartment is equipped with a shared kitchen and bathroom, as well as single or shared bedrooms. No meals are included.
